"Sorry. Car's kinda a mess." says the boy, her supervisor for this evening's shift, her ride home since he was oh so kind enough to offer.
It made J's heart flutter just a bit. Him driving her. In addition to being her supervisor, and her ride, the blond was also her crush.
"What are you doing with all the receipts?" the question pops out of her mouth as she watches him unlock the door, slide into the driver's seat, and reach over to grab the receipts scattered across the passenger's seat by the fistful in order to throw them towards the backseat. She's both amused by his attempt to 'clean' his car and intrigued. Seriously. Why the heck would you need a mini mountain of receipts in your car? "Making sure you're within your budget or something? Adding up how much you've spent or something?" A smile tugs the corners of her lips up before she can start to worry how incredibly stupid she sounds.
Granted, L doesn't seem to think she sounds like an idiot. He laughs softly for a brief second, before joking back. "Yeah, I've got my spreadsheets in here too somewhere." Tossing the last bits of paper to the back of the car, he reaches over to unlock the door for her. Pushing it with his fingers lightly the door swings out a bit towards her.
"Thank you, L, for saving me from busing," she steps out of the car, kinda sorta wishing she lived somewhere further away so they could keep talking awhile longer.
He chuckles, "What's so bad about busing? Your welcome."
And its all it takes: a glance from him --just polite eye-contact, you know? the thing you're supposed to do when conversing with another human being? 'cause I doubt its anything more-- accompanied by a smile, and she's smiling for real now.
Unlocking the door, she wonders if its a bad thing that she likes him more rather than less after spending some time with him outside of work. Only twenty minutes or so outside of work, but still.
Does she want to have a full blown crush on anyone? She isn't sure...
What a worrywart! Its just a crush. What could be bad about it?
